Admission
Prospective UT Students
Incoming freshmen and (external) transfer students can declare Health & Society as their major at the time of their application to UT. For new student admission information, please visit the Office of Admissions website.
Internal Transfer Admission
The internal transfer application will open on September 15th and the deadline to apply will be December 1st, 2025.

To be considered for internal transfer into H&S, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- Attend an Internal Transfer Information Session (see below).
- Minimum 2.75 cumulative UT GPA with at least 12 hours in-residence taken for a letter grade.
- Must be prior to fifth long semester in college, at UT Austin or at a previous institution. Transfer students entering the University with 4 or more semesters can only apply in their first semester at UT.
- Submit a compelling essay response.
Students who do not meet the eligibility criteria and still want to apply can explain their circumstances within the application.
