Get Involved with Research Opportunities in COLA

Students who engage in research as undergraduates gain insight into the professional world, enhance their knowledge base and critical thinking skills, and better prepare themselves for graduate school.

Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program (URAP)

COLA URAP provides a structured opportunity for students to be exposed to and learn about research and exploration in the many different disciplines within Liberal Arts.

Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship

The Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF) Program is a doctoral preparatory program that offers a concrete mentoring plan and financial support to students pursuing academic research in the humanities and related disciplines.

Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR)

UT's Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) supports student engagement in the research and creative activity of the university. Its initiatives include information sessions and advising; an annual video competition for student researchers to tell their stories; and programs to fund summer research.

From humanistic studies of ancient cultures to population studies of timely policy issues, the research and scholarship of our faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates garners major awards, attracts millions of dollars in external funding, influences court cases and social policies, and changes how people think about themselves and the world around them, past, present, and future.
