The Research Support Office (RSO) assists faculty, graduate students, research personnel and staff with externally funded grants and fellowships. The RSO supports the entire lifecycle of proposal and award activity within two collaborative areas: Proposal Services (Pre-Award) and Award Management (Post-Award). Proposal Services assists with development and submission of proposals and applications, while Award Management supports new and active awards, including financial management, research compliance and post-award oversight.

Proposal Services

Follow Grant Application Preparation Timeline
Point of contact between applicant and UT Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP)
Prepare and circulate Liberal Arts Grants Digest. Subscribe here!
Assist with proposal preparation and submission
Tailor assistance to PI and funding opportunity
Build budgets and budget narratives
Monitor applications after submission
Assist with budget revisions, etc.
Partner with OVPR and UT Foundation Relations on PI application support
Ensure PI and application are in compliance with current policies and procedures

Award Services

Research team/expense planning, projections, tracking
After-the-fact subawards, contracts, no-cost extensions, supplemental requests
Incoming and outgoing award transfers, funding re-issues
Administrative compliance and process oversight
Account issue assistance (including HR, Finance and Business solutions)
Reporting requirement assistance
Training, monitoring and resource assistance
